Core Component (48 Semester Hours)

The Core Component consists of courses in degree programs that are specifically required for a particular program of study. They are the foundation courses to an academic program. The Core Component courses are clearly listed as to which to complete. 

ACC 100  Financial Accounting (3 Semester Hours)

This module introduces students to the principles and practices of financial reporting. It covers the preparation, analysis, and interpretation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Students learn to apply accounting standards (such as GAAP or IFRS) to record and report financial transactions accurately. ACC 200 Principles of Managerial Accounting (3 Semester Hours)

It covers key concepts like cost behavior, budgeting, variance analysis, and performance evaluation. Students learn how to analyze financial data to support managerial decisions related to planning, controlling, and evaluating organizational performance.

 

BUS 100 Global Dimensions of Business (3 Semester Hours)

This module that explores the complexities of conducting business in a globalized world and helps equip students with the knowledge and skills to navigate the challenges and opportunities of global business, preparing them for careers in international business, management, and global supply chain management. BUS 200 Introduction to Entrepreneurship (3 Semester Hours)

BUS 300 Business Statistics

Students will learn to collect, analyse, and interpret data, applying statistical methods to solve business problems and inform management decisions. Emphasis will be placed on developing practical skills in data analysis, interpretation, and presentation, using tools such as Excel and statistical software. Through a combination of theoretical knowledge and practical applications, students will gain a solid understanding of business statistics and its role in driving business success, enabling them to make data-driven decisions and communicate insights effectively.

 

MKT 300 Marketing (3 Semester Hours)

This module introduces students to the fundamental principles of marketing, covering market analysis, consumer behaviour, segmentation, targeting, positioning, and the marketing mix. Students will explore the role of marketing in business and society, gaining insights into how organisations create value for customers and stakeholders. Emphasis will be placed on developing practical skills in market analysis, marketing planning, and campaign development, enabling students to apply marketing principles to real-world business scenarios.

 

BUS 400 Business Strategy and Policy (3 Semester Hours)

This module focuses on developing strategic thinking and decision-making skills in a business context. ECN 200 Introduction to Microeconomics (3 Semester Hours)
